Dazzling horn virtuoso and local resident Ben Goldscheider is joined by trailblazing harpist Olivia Jageurs in a programme showcasing the wonderful expressive sound of horn and harp duo.

About the performers
Horn player Ben Goldscheider is an internationally acclaimed soloist and committed chamber musician. He gives recitals at concert halls across Europe, in America and in Japan and has premiered over 50 new works for horn. Ben is a member of the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, Principal Horn of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and a Principal Player of Camerata Pacifica. He is also a member of the Boulez Ensemble. Ben’s recordings include Legacy: A Tribute to Denis Brain and a solo concerto album with the Philharmonia Orchestra. He holds a professorship at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp and serves as Artist in Association at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Born in London in 1997, Ben studied at the Royal College of Music Junior Department with Susan Dent, and in 2020 completed his studies with honours at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin with Radek Baborák. He was a prize-winner at the 2019 YCAT International Auditions, a concerto finalist in the 2016 BBC Young Musician Competition and was nominated by the Barbican as an ECHO Rising Star 2021/22.
Harpist Olivia Jageurs is in demand as a collaborator with the UK’s top musicians and composers. She freelances with the UK’s major orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Glyndebourne Sinfonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Hallé. Olivia has recorded widely with leading artists annd also records regularly from her home studio. With a particular love of accompanying singers, she has performed in recital with many of the UK’s top singers and choirs. She regularly performs at high-profile events such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships for guests of the Royal Box and for Dior in front of the Pyramids of Giza. With a particular interest in new harp writing, Olivia has recorded over 500 original compositions for her project 15 Second Harp and particularly enjoys helping composers with their harp writing. In 2021 Olivia became a Royal Philharmonic Society Enterprise Fund trailblazer for her monthly online concert series Harpy Hour.
