Duo Melus are an exciting flute and piano duo bringing a sophisticated and friendly approach to known and unknown repertoire in performance. Katie and Jack are delighted to be bringing this special rush-hour recital programme of Welsh and French flute and piano music to St Peter's. 


The performers

Duo Melus made their debut at the Wigmore Hall in November 2023 and became City Music Foundation Artists in 2024.


Katie Taunton is an academist with the Accademia Nazionale de Santa Cecilia Orchestra and is an Open Academy Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music. She is supported by the Royal Philharmonic Society Julius Isserlis scholarship.


Jack Redman was a 2022/2023 Oxford Song Young Artist and a finalist in the 2023 Kathleen Ferrier Awards. He has been repetiteur for a range of productions, including Handel’s Semele (2023) and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro (2025) for Glyndebourne Festival Opera.


Both Katie and Jack are graduates of the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music where they were mentored by the flautists Emily Benton and Anna Noakes, and the pianist Michael Dussek.
